Windows, Doors, & Siding
Energy loss through single pane windows, aging doors, and their framing can accounts for 15% of your heating bill.
- We only install ENERGY STAR® qualified windows and doors when other low-cost solutions have been addressed. Careful planning is essential for both aesthetics and comfort.
- Storm windows also do a great job of reducing energy loss in combination with the exterior window over which it is installed. Some classes of exterior window (single pane, clear glass, double pane, low-E coating, etc.) combined with storm windows will qualify for the reduced 2011 tax credit and drastically reduce energy loss.
Through our partnership with locally-owned Fitch Lumber, a 102 year old Carrboro institution, we have access to quality windows for our expert installers to handle. Their proven brands include Marvin, Ply Gem, HyLite, Jeld Wen, ThermaTru, Bilt Best and more.
Insulated siding is a wise choice when replacing exterior siding such as masonite or older vinyl siding. Our certified installers can help you select the best product for your home. If you upgrade your exterior siding without improving insulation (through rigid foam board under siding, or new insulated siding technologies) consider it a missed opportunity to save a bundle on your utility bills.
Windows are best repaired, not necessarily replaced.
Visit the EnergyStar website for a comprehensive look at why an Energy Audit and comprehensive assessment of your home may save you thousands on window replacement.
